    CBP: Teen had brick of cocaine tucked under shirt

    McALLEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A man was taken into custody after lifting up his shirt, revealing a brick of cocaine, documents revealed.

    Bryan Hernandez, who was born in 2005, was arrested on a charge of illegal importation of a controlled substance, federal records show.

    On May 16, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers detained Hernandez while he was attempting to enter the U.S. with cocaine under his clothes at the Hidalgo Port of Entry, a criminal complaint stated.

    During an inbound inspection, Hernandez showed signs of nervousness, including a hesitancy to answer routine questions, the document details. While being questioned, Hernandez lifted his shirt, and officers saw a bulge in the abdomen area under a girdle he was wearing underneath his clothes.

    A search revealed a brick wrapped in black tape containing a white powder, which tested positive for cocaine, the complaint stated.

    Hernandez had a detention hearing on Monday, where his bond was set at $40,000 with a $1,000 deposit.
