WATCH: Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center’s Chris Kemper discusses grants from PetCo, MuttNation Foundation
LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Chris Kemper with the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center joined us on East Texas Now on Thursday. The center just won two separate grants for a combined total of $18,000 going towards their ‘Spay It Forward’ campaign, which offers free or low-cost pet spay and neuter services to Gregg County residents. One grant was from PetCo Love, and the other was from Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation.

Longview ISD eclipse waiver approved by school board
LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The Longview ISD school board approved an attendance waiver on Monday night. The waiver was requested due to low student attendance on April 8, the day of the total solar eclipse. The waiver excuses any instructional days due to inclement weather, health, or safety-related issues from TEA funding calculations. Specifically, the attendance has to be at least 10 percent below last school year’s overall average attendance.
