A Stapleton-area woman has begun anti-rabies treatments after she was bitten by a rabid fox near her home Friday, May 24. Jefferson County Environmental Health Specialist Robert Strickland said that the woman was bitten on the foot while attempting to “shoo” a red fox that was harassing her barn cats.
