FBI searching for suspect in 2 bank robberies at US Bank locations in Hanover Park, Schaumburg

The FBI responded to a bank robbery and an attempted bank robbery Thursday afternoon in the northwest suburbs.

One armed suspect is wanted for both crimes, the FBI said.

There was an armed robbery at a U.S Bank location in Hanover Park, the FBI said. It happened at West Irving Park and Longmeadow Lane.

The FBI responded to the location at 12:30 p.m. and confirmed it is investigating the robbery.

Also, a few miles east, an attempted robbery happened at another U.S. Bank location in Schaumburg. The attempted robbery happened at West Meacham Road and Schaumburg Road.

The FBI also confirmed to ABC7 investigators are looking into the attempted robbery. They responded at 12:55 p.m.

The armed male offender appears to be in his 20s and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, a blue durag, blue gloves, black sweatpants and a black facial covering, the FBI said.

The suspect fled the scenes in a damaged gray Nissan Altima. The car has a possible skeleton decal on the driver's side and a broken side mirror, the FBI said.

No arrests have been made as the suspect is still at large. The FBI continues to investigate.
