Hamtramck Public Schools receives scathing resignation letter from former Compliance Officer
To: Mr. Bauman, Ms. Ahmed, the Board of Education Members, Staff, & Administrators,. Let us begin with a quote that will preface this document, “Clear is kind, unclear is unkind” -Brene Brown (if you do not know her you should). I want to be clear. This is a letter of resignation that is to be effective as of Monday, June 5, 2023. I did receive a non-renewal letter on May 30th. While we all know the real reason my position is not being renewed, it has been explained to me that my district position will no longer be supported, however, each building is to receive an MTSS Coordinator. Building level MTSS support was something the curriculum department had planned to accomplish via building level instructional coaching and specialist positions guided by district level guidance and support. Since that, as all other things that have been planned for by the curriculum department have been thrown out the window by Ms. Ahmed, I am hopeful she will actually stand by her current decision and follow through with building level MTSS Coordinator positions. I have copies of my non-renewal with exact wording should it be needed to prove that this is the direction that leadership has decided to take.
