HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Braden Booth wanted to make a statement in Game one of the AHSAA State Baseball Championships. The Senior pitcher fired a complete-game two-hitter Tuesday and struck out seven to lift Bob Jones High School to s 6-1 victory over Central-Phenix City in the first game of the 2024 AHSAA Class 7A State Baseball Championship series.

Tallassee soccer falls in Final Four
The state of Alabama has officially been introduced to Tallassee soccer. The Tigers made the road trip to Huntsville to participate in the AHSAA Class 5A Final Four for the first time in program history last week. Tallassee ended its season with a 2-1 loss to Gulf Shores in the semifinals, a day before Gulf Shores went on to claim the state championship with a 3-2 win over Guntersville.
Saint James girls soccer historic season to the AHSAA Class 1A/3A state championship
In his 16 years coaching the Saint James girls soccer team, coach Charlie Brightwell brought home the first ever girls soccer state championship last weekend. Saint James (17-1-1) defeated Donoho 3-0 in 1A/3A state championship in Huntsville. This was the Trojans' third straight appearance in the state tournament and second straight championship game.
