Woman Hit, Killed On Busy CT Roadway

A woman struck on a busy Connecticut roadway who was expected to survive died an hour after the crash.

The incident occurred in New Haven County around 11 p.m., Friday, May 3, at 2320 Dixwell Ave., in Hamden.

According to Lt. Raymond Quinn of the Hamden Police, the victim was transported to the hospital, and the initial report was that the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Quinn said the hospital notified police at 11:50 p.m. that the woman had died.

The vehicle's driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The victim's name is not being released at this time, pending notification of the family.

This incident is the subject of an active and open investigation. The Hamden Police Department Accident Reconstruction team is leading the investigation.
