Perry man gets 20 years in Breathitt fentanyl case
A Perry County man was sentenced recently to serve 20 years in prison related to a Breathitt County fentanyl case. According to court documents, on April 19, 39th Circuit Court Judge Lisa H. Whisman sentenced Joseph Thomas, 37, of North Main Street Hazard, to serve 20 years on a charge of aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 28 grams of fentanyl.

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Haley Huffman is an ARH Mountain Student Achiever. Huffman is a senior at Shelby Valley High School, where she has a 4.5 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club. Huffman has maintained at least a 4.0 GPA throughout her time in high school.
KSP Post 9 hosting car show for Christmas outreach
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky State Police Post 9 is preparing for its summer car show, raising money for the Shop With a Trooper program. “None of that would be possible if it wasn’t for the fundraising and donations from our community,” said Post 9 Public Affairs Officer Michael Coleman. “You know, it costs anywhere between $12,000 to $14,000 each year to put [Shop With a Trooper] on. And the more money we raise, the more money we can give the kids to spend each year.”

A community together for a moment of silence
The National Day of Prayer was commemorated across the commonwealth May 2, drawing together people of all denominations and inviting neighboring communities to unite in prayer.
