A winter outdoor skills weekend for women is scheduled for February 20 – 22 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The Becoming an Outdoors Woman Winter Weekend will take place at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Marquette County. The program is open to women 18 and older and is designed for a wide range of experience levels. Participants will be able to choose from 13 hands-on sessions, including snowshoeing, skiing, outdoor cooking, first aid and self-defense. Each session is rated by physical exertion level.

Folks are invited to bring their own potluck dish, hot or cold, to share with the community. We encourage those that plan to bring a potluck dish to also bring a thorough list of included ingredients, particularly specifying if common allergens are included (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and sesame) or if the dish is confidently known to be vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free. Materials will be available at the event to list ingredients if one cannot be prepared in advance. Bringing a dish is not required to partake in eating food from the potluck. There will be take-out containers available to leave with food – with leftovers toward the end of the event or as a grab-and-go option.
