Wiregrass Softball: 7A and 4A teams take field at South Regionals
GULF SHORES, Ala (WDHN) — Several Wiregrass softball teams got their regional tournament runs underway Monday down in Gulf Shores. In 4A Slocomb would win their first game against Satsuma 3-2 before falling 15-0 at the hands of the defending state champion Orange Beach Makos. The Lady Tops will continue their South Regional run Tuesday at 9 A.M. with a matchup against T.R. Miller hoping to make their way to state through the elimination bracket.

Elmore County’s Orr finishes second in javelin

The cardiac dawgs have taken over Gulf Shores. Holtville’s softball team had quite a flair for the dramatic Tuesday afternoon. Playing in Day 1 of the AHSAA Class 5A South Regional, Holtville used two seventh inning home runs to go beat Gulf Shores 6-5 and St. Paul’s 5-4 in the first two rounds.
