LA GRANGE, N.C. (WNCT) — A Georgia fugitive was arrested Tuesday night after a short standoff with deputies from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.

Octavious McCord, 33, of Griffin, Ga., had felony weapons charges from Georgia. Deputies received information he was hiding at 3356 Kurt Drive in La Grange and was taken into custody at 2184 Pauls Path Road by members of the LCSO Special Response Team.

While investigating, deputies said they discovered the suspect had been staying at the Kurt Drive address but had left with a woman in a 2014 white Honda Accord. The vehicle was seen at the Pauls Path address and a man matching McCord’s description was seen walking towards the home.

Officials said the vehicle left the Pauls Path home and was stopped by law enforcement. McCord was not in the vehicle. Deputies then went to the Pauls Path home and searched it after receiving permission from the homeowner. The homeowner said a man had entered the home but they didn’t know who it was.

LCSO SRT members responded to the address and a short standoff ensued before McCord was taken into custody without injuries to anyone involved. McCord was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under two fugitive warrants without bond.
