    Greenville Police arrest Taylors man charged in deadly hit and run

    Greenville Police have arrested a man suspected in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian on North Pleasantburg Drive.

    Officers arrested Marion Dodd, 60, of Taylors on Friday, according to Greenville Police Sgt. Diana Munoz in a press release issued Tuesday. Dodd was charged with reckless homicide, hit and run resulting in death and hit and run resulting in great bodily injury.

    According to police, his silver Chevrolet Trailblazer was identified through CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts.

    Officers were called to the intersection of North Pleasantburg Drive and Worley Road April 24 on reports of two pedestrians hit by a car. According to police, the responding officers found one of the victims dead and another injured. They also determined the driver had fled.

    The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian killed as Santees Jarmar Cummings, 42. The other victim, who was not identified, was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment.

    Both victims were transient and did not have addresses, according to Munoz.
