The radio stations of Inner Banks Media is presenting another free outdoor concert series with the assistance of the Greenville Junior League and the City of Greenville.
The first Concert on the Common for the 2024 season will take place at 6 p.m. today at the Greenville Toyota Amphitheater. The Embers, featuring Craig Woolard, will be on the stage at the Greenville Town Common on First Street.
“We are excited to have Craig and the Embers back for our first show”, said Henry Hinton, president of Inner Banks Media. “Craig is such an amazing showman and everyone can sing along to all those great songs.”
The Embers will perform beach music including their huge hits “I Love Beach Music” and “Far Away Places” plus some of the songs Woolard has recorded including “Love Don’t Come No Stronger” and “What You Do To Me.”
The band will also perform other popular songs.
Beer and wine will be served on the town common by the Greenville Junior League and there will be multiple food trucks lining First Street.
A new charity effort will be featured at this year’s shows. The radio stations are encouraging attendees to bring non-perishable food items to support the Food Bank’s Back Pack Buddies program, which helps kids in the area who are food insecure during the summer months. A list of requested items can be found at concertonthecommon.org.
“The shows are free again this year but we are asking for help with the Back Pack Buddies program,” said Hinton. “This is a great way to help children in our community this summer. It’s sad but true that there are kids who don’t have food during the summer months.”
Inner Banks Media stations blanket eastern NC including 107.9 WNCT, 103.7 WTIB, 94.3 The Game, Oldies 97.9/94.1 and 96.3 WRHT.
