CONCORD, N.C. (WGHP) – College and professional athletes in traditional sports are some of the most heavily recruited people on NASCAR’s pit road.

Both share a lot of the same skills, precision, discipline and coordination.

That’s what drew Dustin Lineback to NASCAR after his linebacker days at East Carolina University were done and a professional football career was out of reach.

But it’s not surprising that Lineback ended up on pit road. He grew up in Greensboro and always loved NASCAR.

He’s been on various pit crews over the years. He went to victory lane at Daytona with Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Now he’s on the 6 team as the jackman for Brad Keselowski.

The team won the race at Darlington recently, and all members have their eyes set on winning the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte.
