    1 dead, 1 with life-threatening injuries after being thrown from moped during Greensboro crash on US 29 South near Florida Street, police say

    GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – One person is dead and another is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a moped was hit by a vehicle in Greensboro on Tuesday, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release.

    Around 10:09 p.m., officers responded to US 29 South near Florida Street when they were told a vehicle hit the back of a moped.

    Arriving officers found two victims who had been thrown from the moped.

    One of them, a female, was pronounced dead. The other, a male, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say.

    Officers found the vehicle they believe hit the two people on the moped and left the scene.

    The investigation is ongoing.
