Hiawatha Swim Team makes a splash with outstanding results
The Hiawatha Swim Team hosted a meet on Saturday, taking on Marysville. The Hiawatha squad turned in outstanding results, as the competitors continue to grow in the sport. In the boys under 25 SC meter freestyle, Titus Kriwiel finished third for Hiawatha, with Marshall Aller in sixth, Henry Foeschl in eighth, and Asher Brown in ninth. For the girls, Lilah Aller finished first, with Bristol Neibling in third, Rylee James in fourth, London Morton in fifth, and Malia Aller in sixth. In the 9-10 25 SC meter freestyle, Jackson Jagels finished second, with Porter Hillyer in third, Quinn Leahy in fourth, Carter Bannister in fifth and Jacob Estes in ninth. On the girls side, Adalyn Meyer came in first, with Reagan James in second, Landynn Patton in fourth, Emerson Enneking in fifth, Vydia Morton in 10th, Kendelle Erlacher in 11th, Aubrey Kerl in 13th and Vada Ross in 14th.
Riley County Fliers host its 31st annual Air Show and Fly In
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The Riley County Fliers held its 31st annual Air Show and Fly-In today at Tuttle Creek State Park. The event is the annual fundraiser for the club over the summer to raise money for the ground and other maintenance. Spectators can enjoy watching participants fly single and double-wing planes along with enjoying some food. Organizers said this event is for anyone who wants to come out and fly.
Riley County Health Department Hosts Third Annual Community Baby Shower
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The Riley County Health Department held its 3rd annual Community Baby Shower today in Manhattan. The event held at Sunset Zoo provided expecting or new parents the opportunity to learn more about safe practices with infants. Over 20 vendors were there providing parenting resources and educational materials along with safe sleep training and safe sleep bundles. A safe sleep bundle included a pack-and-play, safe sleep sack, and pacifier. With over 250 people officials said this was the biggest turnout ever.
