Literacy organizations receive grants from Dollar General Literacy Foundation in Burlingame, Marysville
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Three literacy organizations will receive grants from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation in Burlingame and Marysville. According to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation officials, on Thursday, May 16, the foundation announced the award of more than $70,000 in literacy grants to Kansas non-profit organizations, libraries and schools. The funds are part of the Foundation’s more than $10.6 million donated to support adult, family and summer literacy programs in the 48 states in which Dollar General operates. With the grants, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation also surpasses helping more than 20 million individuals achieve their educational dreams since its inception in 1993.

Clay County Medical Center welcomes new provider
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Clay County Medical Center is welcoming its new provider. According to Clay County Medical Center, Mindy Lovendahl, FNP-C, has joined the team. Lovendahl has been a primary care medical provider for 11 years at COMCARE in Salina, Kan. Originally raised in Clay Center, she has moved back to the community with her husband, Jason. They have two sons, Jakob (23) and Jaxon (18). Lovendahl said she is looking forward to caring for her “home” community, along with being closer to family.
Riley County police investigating $2,000 theft from Ross store in Manhattan
