GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Massachusetts State Police, in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, continue to investigate the homicide case following the arrest of 42-year-old Taaniel Herberger-Brown , in New York State.
Free community college informational session at Greenfield Public Library The investigation commenced Monday night when Greenfield Police received reports of a foul odor emanating from an apartment on Chapman Street. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered the body of an unidentified male victim lying on the floor.
The Albany County Sheriff’s Office in New York was contacted by Greenfield Police at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday morning to search for 42-year-old Taaniel L. Herberger Brown in connection with a suspicious death in Greenfield. He was found in his vehicle at an Albany International Airport parking garage. He was arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice.
The circumstances surrounding the victim’s death remain unknown, pending determination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Herberger-Brown was arraigned in New York on Tuesday and was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility. He will be returned to Massachusetts pending extradition proceedings.
