NFL Analyst Doesn’t Hold Back On Packers QB Jordan Love

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had a terrific 2023 campaign, particularly in the second half of the season when he led the Packers to a 6-2 record and a playoff appearance.

Now, heading into 2024, expectations have risen for Love and Green Bay, but the problem is that the Packers play in one of the toughest divisions in football in the NFC North.

However, former NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress thinks the Packers have a big advantage: they have the best quarterback in the division.

Right now, the only real competition for Love is Detroit Lions signal-caller Jared Goff, and there are still some who think he is merely a decent quarterback.

The other two starting quarterbacks within the division—Caleb Williams and J.J. McCarthy—are both rookies, so the jury is still out on both of them.

One could even argue that the jury is still technically out on Love given that he has only played one full season and struggled through the first half of it, but it’s very hard to overlook what he did over the back half of 2023.

During that eight-game stretch, Love threw 18 touchdowns and just one interception. Then, he threw three touchdowns without a pick in a Wild Card Round playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys, bringing his total to 21 touchdowns and one pick over nine games.

Love and the Packers finally bowed out to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round, but even then, Green Bay took a lead into the fourth quarter.

On the 2023 campaign as a whole, Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.1.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Utah State, was selected by the Packers with the 26th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Jordan Love spent the first three years of his career backing up Aaron Rodgers, but the door was opened for him to start after Green Bay traded Rodgers to the New York Jets last offseason.
