(COLORADO) — An opioid crisis has gripped Colorado, and the filmmakers at Mountain Time Media are shining a light on the crisis with the documentary, “DEVASTATED: Colorado’s Fentanyl Disaster”, which is premiering Wednesday, May 15, through Saturday, May 18, in four locations throughout the state.

DEVASTATED ” uncovers the profound impact of the fentanyl epidemic, exploring its harsh realities. In 2023, drug overdoses resulted in the loss of more than 112,000 lives, with 70% of cases caused by fentanyl.

“If we can get someone — anyone — to discuss the fentanyl epidemic with others after seeing this film, we’ve accomplished our goal,” said Steffan Tubbs, director of the film and President/CEO & Founder of Mountain Time Media.

Through the perspectives of law enforcement officials, recovering addicts, former drug dealers, bereaved parents, and others, the film portrays the tragic consequences of this crisis. Viewers are taken on a journey from the streets of Denver to the rural landscapes of Colorado, confronting what the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) calls “the deadliest drug threat our country has ever faced.”

“DEVASTED: Colorado’s Fentanyl Disaster” will premiere at four Cinemark Theaters:

    • Greeley: May 15, 7 p.m. at the Cinemark Theater in the Greeley Mall
    • Boulder: May 16, 7 p.m. at the Cinemark Theater at 1700 29th St
    • Lakewood: May 17, 7 p.m. at the Cinemark Theater at 440 S. Teller St
    • Colorado Springs: May 18, 3 p.m. at the Cinemark Theater, Tinseltown at 1545 E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd.

At each premiere event, attendees will watch a screening of the documentary followed by the chance to interview key figures in the film and special guests from around Colorado. Participants will be able to participate in discussions, ask questions, and explore strategies for addressing the fentanyl crisis.
