GHS Spring Sports ‘24 Update Part I
The transition into spring sports is off and running. All eight teams have had a few games under their belts and are off to a great start for the Rams. The Softball team returned home from a pre-season trip to Baltimore and Tennessee where they won 5 out of their 7 games. The team kicked off the regular season with a 14-0 win at Massabessic and downed the Portland Bulldogs 9-0 during their first home game. Lily Tukey, and Andi Cloutier each had a pair of hits while Sophia Diphilippo and Sawyer Yonderhaar each had a triple. Amber Bretton allowed one hit and struck out 10. The team will re-group after two tough losses recently. They have the potential to be very successful down the stretch.
Rumble Ponies Rally To Get Eighth Straight Win
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have now won eight straight games after coming from behind down 5-1 to the Portland Sea Dogs to get the win 10-7. Binghamton would string together five runs in the seventh inning courtesy of an 2 RBI double by Rhylan Thomas to tie the contest, followed by an RBI single by Alex Ramirez and a 2 RBI single by Kevin Parada to get the Ponies their first lead since the top of the first inning.

Outdoor track and field team soars in early season meet
Windham High School’s outdoor track and field team headed to Massabesic High School in Waterboro on Wednesday, May 1 for a meet against Gorham, Massabesic and Sanford and both Windham squads did well, with the girls finishing first with a score of 127.5, and the boys finishing third with a score of 66.
Varsity softball extends win streak by shutting down Westbrook
Windham High School’s varsity softball team showed they remain strong as the season approaches its halfway point. The Lady Eagles crushed Westbrook with a 10-0 win on Monday, May 6 at home. Junior Kennedy Kimball was in the circle for Windham and struck out 14 over six innings. She threw 57 strikes of her 76 pitches.
