'Clear Creek' turns shocking bright orange color in Colorado
Residents of Clear Creek County were shocked to see that the area's namesake Clear Creek had turned a shocking bright orange color on Tuesday. After the sheriff's office was made aware of the situation, Environmental Health was called to find out what was going on. According to Environmental Health, the discoloration was due to a blocked sediment pond that was let loose down the stream. Popular Colorado mountain road will be closed in 2025
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — The road that takes visitors up one of Colorado's most popular 14ers will be closed for all of 2025 due to construction. According to a release from the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, improvements to a section of Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mount Evans) Scenic Byway will impact visitors in 2024 and 2025. Construction will begin in late July or early August of 2024, with a temporary lane closure in the project area near Summit Lake.
