A Few Tornadoes Possible From 4 to 11 PM Across Minneapolis, Hayward and Northwestern Wisconsin With Main Event Near 7 PM as High Shear, Low CAPE Setup Unfolds
HAYWARD, WISCONSIN — A few tornadoes can’t be ruled out this evening, Wednesday, October 28, across southeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin, based on the latest model guidance. Forecasters say a high shear, low CAPE setup is likely to unfold, the type of environment common in fall severe weather events. The threat window runs from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. CDT, with the main event expected near 7 p.m. The highest risk is focused on the Twin Cities and a zone stretching east into northwestern Wisconsin toward Hayward. A broader area of possible storms extends from Des Moines and Omaha north to Duluth and Thunder Bay.
