Join the James River Valley Library System as we embark on a journey through all things adventurous during the summer library program! Activities throughout the summer will include reading programs for kids, teens, and adults, story time, crafts, LEGO club, and family events. Thompson 3-Peats in Class B Baseball; Defeats Grafton 4-3 Via Walk-Off
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (KVRR)–Thompson entered Saturday’s championship game versus Grafton winners of two straight class B Titles. They got their third in spectacular fashion. At Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown the Thompson Tommies battled the Grafton spoilers in their quest for a third straight championship. Junior Jonathan Muhs came to the plate with the bases loaded no outs in a tie game and delivered a base hit over the head of the right fielder to score the game winning run.
Red River Valley Veterans Concert Band Coming to Valley City

Hi-Liners down Legacy, play Minot for the state championship
It came down to the #1 doubles between Valley City and Bismarck Legacy. It was a rematch of last year’s quarterfinal match in the state tournament when the Sabres knocked off the Hi-Liners 4-1. This year the matchup was to see who would be playing for a state championship.

Jamestown’s Nold, Graves Earn All-WDA Softball Nods
JAMESTOWN – Seniors Makenna Nold and Addie Graves are Jamestown’s representatives on the 2024 All-WDA softball team. Nold pitched 85 and two-thirds innings, striking out 164 with a 3.19 ERA. She also tied Graves for the team home run lead with eight while batting .424. Nold led the Blue Jays with 36 runs batted in.
Hi-Liners win first state tennis title in 53 years
After Kailee Nielson/Georgia Zaun won at #2 doubles and Breck Sufficool/Abby Martineck won at #1 doubles, Skye Nielson held her composure up 3-2 in the second set winning the last three games in a row to help earn the first State Championship in Girls Tennis for the Hi-Liners since 1971 and only the 2nd in program history.
Fort Festival This Weekend
Since 1978, cavalry troops and infantry units have converged on the grounds of Fort Sisseton for the state park’s Historical Festival. The annual three-day event set for this Friday through Sunday draws thousands of visitors and hundreds of camping units. Activities start Friday with shooting demonstrations beginning at 1 p.m. and wrap up late at night with a movie under the Big Tent. Friday evening, visitors can enjoy the chuckwagon plate feed fundraiser, the proceeds of which go to support Fort activities. (Call (605) 910-4465 to check ticket availability).
