    BASEBALL

    Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin 4, Hill City-Northland 0

    NASHWAUK— It was a pitcher’s duel last Thursday in the Titans’ victory over the Hornets until an error brought three Titan runs across the plate.

    GNK will host Hibbing on Tuesday while Hill City-Northland went to McGregor on Monday.

    Hill City/Northland, McGregor

    McGregor— Canceled

    Grand Rapids, Princeton - Delayed

    Grand Rapids, Rock Ridge

    The Thunderhawks (3-2) will host Rock Ridge (5-3) at Bob Streetar Field on Tuesday. Results of the game were unavailable at publication. Grand Rapids’ matchup against Princeton was delayed and will be rescheduled.

    Deer River, International Falls

    INTERNATIONAL FALLS— The Warriors away game vs. International Falls was canceled.

    HILL CITY— The Hill City Storm (4-3) hosts Pine River-Backus (4-3) on Tuesday. Results of the game were unavailable prior to publication.

    Duluth Denfeld 17, Deer River 7

    The Warriors early-season struggles continued as they fell twice over the weekend to move to 0-6 this year. No scoring data was available following the game. Deer River will host 5-2 Blackduck on Tuesday. Results of the game were unavailable at publication.

    Greenway/Nashwauk/Keewatin

    Deer River/Northland track and field had two of their scheduled meets canceled due to weather.

    Grand Rapids

    The Thunderhawks track and field team are in Hibbing Tuesday, participating in a quad meet. Results of the event were unavailable at publication.

    Bigfork

    The Huskies were scheduled to compete in International Falls on Monday and Chisholm on Tuesday for track and field events. Results were unavailable at publication.

    BOYS LACROSSE

    Becker 11, Grand Rapids-Greenway 8

    BECKER— The GRG boys lacrosse team scored their highest goal total of the season Saturday with eight, but it was not enough to overcome Becker High School, who won 11-8. The lost keeps the Thunderhawks winless on the year (0-5), as they go to face undefeated Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (5-0) on Wednesday.

    GIRLS LACROSSE

    Grand Rapids/Greenway, Hermantown/Proctor

    GRAND RAPIDS— The Grand Rapids-Greenway girls LAX team are looking for their fifth win of the season Tuesday at home against winless Hermantown/Proctor (0-3). Results of the game were unavailable at publication.

    BOYS GOLF

    Grand Rapids

    The Thunderhawks played host to the GR Grand Slam at Pokegama and Eagle Ridge on Saturday. Grand Rapids team results were not available at publication.

    Deer River

    Deer River was at Pokegama last Friday, shooting a 371 overall to place 11th. Freshman Tyler Latvala led the way for the Warriors, carding an 87 and finishing in 36th place individually. Junior Caiden Schjenken scored a 91 for 48th. Senior Kyle Gotchie withdrew with a lingering knee injury.

    Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin

    GNK Titans boys saw action last week, with Greenway’s Caiden Carpenter winning the nine-hole event in Virginia. Carpenter shot a 37 for a two-stroke victory, according to the Mesabi Tribune. Louis Champlin tied for sixth with a 41, Derek Gibeau took 12th with a 44, and Preston Troumbly scored 45 to place 14th overall.

    GIRLS GOLF

    Grand Rapids girls golf played several rounds over the last week. Last Friday in Bemidji in Bemidji, the team shot a 357 overall, their best round in a long time according to their coach.

    “It was our lowest team score recorded in the three years I’ve been coaching,” said Mikky Kromy.

    Brianna Dekich shot an 83 to lead the Thunderhawks, and place eighth overall in the tournament. Kate Clairmont took 14th with an 89.

    Grand Rapids was back in action Monday at the Pequot Lakes Invite, shooting a 363 and placing fifth overall despite the weather.

    “Conditions were very tough,” said Kromy. “Felt like a temp of 35° and steady rain the whole round.

    Clairmont led the way in this round for Grand Rapids, shooting an 85 for 11th best in Pequot Lakes. Senior Mia Peters took 14th overall, with an 89. Dekich came in at 23rd, with a 92 in the round.

    Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin

    The GNK girls played in Hoyt Lakes last Thursday, placing third overall with a 236. Olivia Klamm led GNK, tying for 10th with a 51. Reagan Powell was 15th, shooting a 54. Klara Finke finished in 18th with 62 and Ava Gangl was 23rd, scoring a 69 in the round.

    BOYS VOLLEYBALL

    Grand Rapids, Hermantown

    HERMANTOWN— The Grand Rapids boys volleyball team is in action this spring and will be in Hermantown Thursday, to take on the Hawks.

    MINNESOTA NORTH - ITASCA BASEBALL

    MNC-Itasca, Mesabi East

    The men’s baseball team will finish a four-game series against Mesabi East as they look to build on their current four-game winning streak. The Vikings are 22-16 through 36 games so far this season and have a firm grip on the North Conference with two games in hand. Results for the series finale against Mesabi East were unavailable at publication.

    REVIVAL

    The Northern Revival 16’s went 4-2 this weekend at the Midwest Fiesta Championship to take 7th place out of 30 teams in the 16's Gold Club Division

    Northern Revival- Ely powered through some injuries to take 1st place in the 16's Club Copper Division.
