Minnesota Power reaches electric rate settlement with state agencies
Minnesota Power, a utility division of ALLETE Inc. (NYSE: ALE), has reached a settlement agreement on its 2024 electric rate proposal with the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Minnesota Attorney General’s Office and Large Power Intervenors. If approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MPUC), the agreement would set final rate increases of about 4.9% for residential and small business customers and about 4.4% for industrial and large commercial customers. Butenhoff receives local DFL nod of approval
DFL delegates from Minnesota Senate District 6 gathered Saturday afternoon to endorse Earl Butenhoff as their endorsed candidate for Minnesota House of Representatives District 6A. Earl Butenhoff, a resident of Fifty Lakes, received the endorsement of the Minnesota DFL Party for House District 6A. Earl has a background in agriculture and considers himself an advocate for the common farmer. Earl spoke passionately regarding the need for transparency and accountability of public servants, stating “we need someone in office who doesn’t lie,” referring to present government action. As a fifteen-plus year veteran of the Minnesota Farmers Union, Earl pledges to truthfully represent the people and interests of our communities. Senate District 6 DFL was ecstatic to endorse such a motivated candidate with many years of experience in our region of the state.
