Jefferson County man facing drug charges after traffic stop in Gouverneur

GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 60-year-old Antwerp man is facing drug possession charges afte a traffic stop on Tuesday, April 23 in the town of Gouverneur.

New York State Police allege that Louis Massey Jr. had methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and a digital scale when he was pulled over on U.S. Route 11. Massey received charges of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Twenty-three-year-old passenger Madison McIntosh of Gouverneur was allegedly found with cocaine and was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Massey was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court and remanded to jail without bail. McIntosh was given an appearance ticket and released.

State police were assisted by the NYSP Counter Terrorism Intelligence and Community Stabilization Units, St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.
