Peoria Public Schools seniors visit grade school stomping grounds prior to graduation
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Peoria Public Schools held their annual parade for graduating seniors who got the chance to visit their old grade school stomping grounds. Seniors from across the district visited Kellar Primary, Charter Oak Primary, Northmoor Primary and Vivian Primary. Students were able to pick which school they went to, especially if they went there as a child.
18 recruits graduate from the fire training academy
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Friday morning, 18 firefighter recruits graduated from the Vernon A Gudat Training Academy. The graduation was put on by the Peoria Fire Department at the Gateway Building in Peoria. Each graduate spent the last 12 weeks training and getting their OSFM certifications in basic operations’ firefighter, hazardous materials operations and several emergency medical classes.

PEORIA (25News Now) - Area Corvette owners set out to put some road behind them with the goal of helping the children of St Jude. This marks the 13th year the sports car owners have made the two-day trek to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. Normal Fire Department announces the death of former chief
NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — The Normal Fire Department announced they were notified of the death of retired Normal Fire Chief George Cermak on Thursday Morning. According to the department, Cermak joined the then-volunteer Normal Fire Department in 1964 and was one of the first paid firefighters hired in 1969. He was promoted to captain in 1970 and was named Normal Fire Chief in 1975.
