Mason County Schools to join Toyota West Virginia’s 4T Academy in upcoming school year
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Mason County Schools now makes the newest addition to Toyota’s work-based learning program for upper-class high school students. Toyota West Virginia welcomed Mason County to its 4T Academy during a ceremony at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center Wednesday. It makes the third school system to join the academy behind Kanawha and Putnam county schools after Toyota established the program in the state in 2022.

This will be our ‘break’ between rain events, so we’ll have to take advantage as best we can this afternoon. Though an isolated shower can pop up this afternoon, most folks will make it through rain-free and with at least partial sunshine through to evening. Temperatures will stay comfortable, going from the 60s to near 80°. After a relaxing evening of quieter weather, we’ll be tracking the next wave of clouds approaching in the pre-dawn hours of Friday.

Case against men charged in Huntington pursuit, standoff sent to grand jury
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The case against two men accused in a police chase that ended in a barricade situation in Huntington has been sent to a grand jury. Tavoyn Billy Morrison, 24, of Columbus, Ohio, and Aaron Sheldon Moore, 19, of Groveport, Ohio, were taken into custody on April 30 after fleeing from police who attempted to make a traffic stop on a suspected stolen vehicle, according to the Huntington Police Department.
