Kentucky State Police reported its phone lines were down following severe weather across the state on Sunday and shared a list of back-up phone numbers for the public to use. Gov. Andy Beshear noted the outages during a press conference Monday on the Kentucky storms, which left at least four people dead and caused widespread damage across the state. A tornado was confirmed in Western Kentucky.

Storms kill 4 in Kentucky, leave towns damaged
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSMV) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced during a press conference on Monday that four people were killed during Sunday’s storms. Governor Beshear confirmed that three women, ages 67, 62, and 48, died from injuries sustained from the storms. Additionally, a 34-year-old man was killed. Beshear also said a fifth person is in critical condition and clinging to life.
Thousands without power across southern Kentucky
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Thousands of people were without power across the region as severe storms make their way into the area. According to an outage map on Warren RECC’s website as of 4:50 pm Tuesday, around 1,100 customers are without power from 213 outages. Around 11:00 a.m. Sunday, just over 12,000 customers experienced an outage.
Kentucky weather tonight: More severe storms possible
LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The threat is not over yet after the first round of severe weather earlier this afternoon. Another round of showers and storms will work through the area later tonight, bringing the potential for more severe weather. Most of our area remains at a level three risk for severe storms.
