Glendale couple found dead in Lake Mathews area

A man and woman from Glendale were found dead inside a vehicle in the unincorporated Lake Mathews area of Riverside County Monday and the case was being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Glendale police alerted the Riverside County Sheriff's Department at 9:27 a.m. Sunday that two people had threatened suicide and were possibly in the area of Cajalco Road and La Sierra Avenue, according to sheriff's Sgt. Jarred Bishop.

"Deputies assigned to the Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station responded to the area and located a vehicle with two deceased individuals inside," Bishop said.

The people found dead inside the vehicle were later identified as 54- year-old Matthew Haze and 53-year-old Naomi Haneji-Haze.
