An individual was found dead in Lakefront Park in Glencoe on Friday morning in an apparent suicide, according to Glencoe Public Safety.

Authorities responded at 6:15 a.m. Friday, May 3, when a park guest reported a deceased individual at the park’s lookout at the eastern-most end of Park Avenue, said a Glencoe official.

The investigation is ongoing, police say.

Glencoe Public Safety shared contact information for individuals struggling with mental health, including the suicide and crisis hotline (Dial 988 or text “Home” to 741741) and local nonprofit Family Service of Glencoe (847-835-111), which offers mental-health services.
