Gadsden area high school football: Spring game schedule and who's not doing spring ball
It's spring football time for Gadsden area high school football teams. Only a few teams chose to participate in a formal spring game while one (Ashville) is going through spring practice but will not have a formal spring game. Teams are given the choice of a spring practice period and spring game or an extra week in the fall and the ability to do a jamboree ahead of the season. Teams that do a spring practice must start fall practice a week later than those who don't.

Gadsden area track and field: How area teams and athletes did at the state meets
Led by a few standout performances, it was a great week for Gadsden area track and field teams as they competed in states meets. Classes 1A-3A were in Cullman Friday-Saturday, while Classes 4A-7A were in Gulf Shores from Thursday to Saturday. Cherokee County girls team, led by a standout day from South Alabama commit Mary Hayes Johnson, brought home a second-place trophy. Alex Johnson took home three state titles for the Warriors.

Gadsden reaches new agreement to sell old Sears building; developer plans loft apartments
