The Lodge welcome comedians on dining event to support the Shelterhouse
A Comedy Night will occur at The Lodge in Gladwin County Recreation Area, at 1365 Shaw Road, on August 5th. The event purpose is to donate funds to The Shelterhouse, a nonprofit organization committed to providing safety, shelter, advocacy and counseling to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan Governor, decided with the republican-led legislature to make a deal for 2023 fiscal year (at July's start) that part of the federal funds should be used to make targeted investments surges in mental health programs, directing more than half a billion dollars to improve access to behavioral health care and increase capacity of treatment.
2020 Flood: restore the lakes will take Gladwin County to a 30-year payment plan
The commissioner boards of Gladwin and Midland counties will vote this week to determine the measures and how much it will cost to repair the destroyed dams and to restore the drained lakes. These mends are needed because of the flood of May 2020, an incident that began with a days-long rainstorm, created a 500-year flood event, wrecked a series of dams and forced more than 10,000 people to evacuate their homes. The lakes that need repair because of the ruined dams are Sanford, Secord, Smallwood and Wixom lakes, which stretch across both Gladwin and Midland counties.

Alex Marsh, 20, lives in Midland and pleaded not guilty in infant's death in court. Alex Lewis Marsh is being accused of felony murder, second-degree murder, and first-degree child abuse in connection with the death of his infant daughter. According to what happened in the Midland County Circuit Court on Wednesday (29), his charges are because he put a four-pound blanket on his six-month-old daughter, Scarlett, leading to her asphyxiation.

Annual Gladwin County Pride Parade is set for 25th June

Sanford to host flood remembrance event May 21
Coleman Faith United Methodist Church invites all to come out to the Sanford Centennial Museum on Saturday, May 21. The event will honor the survivor spirit across the flood-affected communities and the volunteers who have been there every step of the way to help with rebuilding and recovery. The performances are part of the Sanford Rising events to mark the second anniversary of the May 2020 flood.
