Track season kicks off for students at Eaton high school
At Eaton High school, students take track and field very seriously and are looking forward to this 2024 season. With many different events to compete in, ranging from field events all the way to running and sprinting events, Eaton High School athletes are ready to dominate this season. Last season, a handful of EHS athletes competed in the state track meet. EHS sophomore, Mori Adams (26) who throws discus said, “I like doing track because I like the freedom and hanging out with my teammates. But also because I get to represent EHS when I go to track meets.” This is Adams’ second year doing track for Eaton High School and he can speak for most of the team when he says, “Some of the problems that the team goes through in track are communication with teammates, injuries, and the weather sometimes.” With track being a springtime sport, that means there is lots of change in weather, making it difficult sometimes to compete outdoors. Communication is always key no matter what sport you are playing but for Adams it is especially important. So far, EHS athletes have been putting in the work so eventually at the end of this season they will find themselves at state. Adams hopes this year that the EHS track team will make it all the way to state track again.
