Angela Moore, Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for Raleigh County Schools, Office of Special Programs, exhibits a commitment to her job and has shown that she creates a supportive and educational environment while helping to enhance the learning experience of these students.

Moore expressed her appreciation and love for her job and wants the community to be aware of what she does.

“It’s very humbling, and again not because it’s recognition to me. I have a very hard time receiving recognition, but I am really excited that it brings a light to my deaf and hard of hearing population,” said Moore.

She also explained that these students can go on to do bigger and better things and succeed in life. She wants the public to be more aware of how wonderful the deaf and hard of hearing community really is.

Moore also wanted to mention that she helps her students with self advocacy skills and pre and reteaching information that these students might miss in the classroom. She said that many of her students go on to achieve bigger goals, including one of her students who will be graduating from Gallaudet University in D.C.
