Inside Josett. The restaurant Jackson is buzzing about
After months of construction delays and finishing touches, Chef Michael Greenhill said his new restaurant, Josett , is now targeting a late November opening in Jackson's Fondren area . Greenhill , who spent 12 years helping build the reputation of Walker's Drive-In alongside Chef Derek Emerson , said the restaurant is nearing the finish line at the Fondren 3000 building near Old Canton Road and Lakeland Drive. "The end of November is the target," Greenhill told the Clarion Ledger during a recent tour of the space. Finishing touches remain before opening While major construction work is complete, Greenhill said much of the remaining work involves detailed finishes throughout the restaurant. "Everything's in," Greenhill said. "They're doing the trim right now. Once the trim is done, everything else should move pretty fast." The restaurant's interior has been designed to create an intimate, upscale atmosphere. Greenhill credited interior designer Mary Sanders Cavicchi and contractor Will Kirksey, along with craftsman Kirk Garraway, for helping bring his vision to life. "There's not a smooth surface in the dining room," Greenhill said. "It's going to take some time to finish everything, but it's going to be worth it." Greenhill said anticipation has continued to build
