Brief cooldown Tuesday before temps start to sizzle again
MONDAY EVENING - TUESDAY: Skies have a been just a little hazy this afternoon as some upper-level smoke has arrived behind a cold front. It’s been windy behind the front as well with northwesterly gusts over 30 mph. Despite a “cold” front, it’s been another warm day with afternoon temperatures in the 80s for most of the region. A second cold front will arrive later tonight. This front brings along a chance for a few showers/storms this evening. The front will keep our temperatures near or just below average for Tuesday. Tuesday morning lows will be in the 50s with highs mostly in the 70s to near 80. It will be windy again as well with wind out of the north-northwest, gusting around 30 mph. The break in the heat will be short-lived, as the heat dome strengthens once again over our region.

Wind and a few showers ahead for Monday
MONDAY - TUESDAY: A quiet Monday morning with mostly sunny skies. By the afternoon hours, temperatures will climb into the 80s. Strong northwesterly gusts, above 30 mph at times, will keep temperatures from reaching the 90s. Those same winds will drag Canadian wildfire smoke into our region. This may lead to hazy skies in some areas Monday, so we’ll watch for the smoke. During the evening hours, a few showers and thundershowers will push into the northern half of our region, so some areas may see light rain.
