Grand Junction man arrested on assault charge
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Mesa County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Garrett Digiallonardo Wednesday morning after responding to a reported assault. MCSO deputies were dispatched to a local hospital’s emergency room Feb. 21 when an adult man was dropped off after being assaulted. Hospital staff informed deputies the 39-year-old man told them he was involved in a fight where he was put in a chokehold.

Fate of Orchard Mesa Pool may be known within the next couple of weeks
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Orchard Mesa Pool has been a hot topic of discussion for quite some time, but it seems like a final choice could be made here very shortly. Since it was built in 1982, the pool has been owned by a three entity group comprised of Mesa County Valley School District 51, the City of Grand Junction, and Mesa County. All of which have a different role in ownership. District 51 owns the land on which the pool stands, and contributes around $80,000 per year in utilities, liability insurance, internet and grounds. And the City of Grand Junction paid for the construction of the building and have been responsible for upkeep. The city has also been in charge of staffing and operating the pool.

Mesa County’s Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to pass a resolution declaring itself as a “non-sanctuary county.”.
