East Texas and Louisiana Brace for Flood Watch Until 6 PM Friday
Shreveport, LA – A flood watch is in effect until 6 PM Friday for parts of northwest Louisiana and eastern Texas due to ongoing heavy rainfall. Areas affected include Angelina, Cherokee, Nacogdoches, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby counties in Texas, and portions of northwest Louisiana including Sabine and Natchitoches parishes.

TEXARKANA, Texas—The filing period to turn in an application for a place on the city ballot in Texarkana, Texas, kicked off on Saturday and runs through Monday, August 19. Filing can be done in person at city hall during the week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., by mail, by email, or by fax.

Mercy to open 3 new primary care facilities inside Walmart Supercenters across Arkansas by the end of the summer
ROGERS, Ark. — Mercy announced it is opening three new primary care facilities inside Walmart Supercenters in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley. The three locations are former Walmart Health centers that recently closed. The release said Mercy "will solely run the clinics," saying "Walmart will not be involved in the provision or oversight of care."
