    Hawaii softball defeats Cal State Fullerton in extras

    The University of Hawaii softball team stayed alive in the Big West race with a 2-1 win in 10 innings over conference leader Cal State Fullerton on Friday night at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

    Hawaii improved to 20-21 overall and 13-7 in Big West play, while CSUF dropped to 32-16, including 18-4 in conference games.

    Mya’Lia Bethea stole third in the bottom of the tenth and scored the winning run after a throwinf error.

    Addison Kostrencich did all the pitching for Hawaii, allowing nine hits with four walks and two strikeouts in 10 innings of work.

    The Rainbow Wahine and Titans close out their series on Saturday with a doubleheader that begins at 2 p.m.

    Following the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader and home finale, the ‘Bows will honor their seniors with a ceremony.
