Frankie’s Blues Mission delivers heart and soul with authenticity
At a Frankie’s Blues Mission show, the music rarely stays onstage for long. The audience responds in real time to the band’s give-and-take approach, led by Frank “Frankie Lee” Robinson (vocals, guitar), with support from Kurt McManus (vocals, bass guitar), Rod Breland (vocals, drums), Hayward Redd (tenor saxophone), Charles Edwards (baritone and alto saxophones) and Christopher “Dryzdale” Williams (trumpet). Clapping, foot-tapping, dancing and laughter all become part of the band’s sound.

The concept leans into New York-style chophouse theatrics, with a racetrack bar, dry-aged prime steaks and a hefty wine list, then layers on Southern sides and desserts drawn from Clark’s own family recipes.

'Flight of Butterflies' soars into Fernbank Museum this spring
A kaleidoscope of color and conservation is set to take flight at Fernbank Museum of Natural History as its newest outdoor exhibit — Flight of Butterflies — opens in March. Located along the nature trails in WildWoods, the exhibition features 25 larger-than-life butterfly sculptures, each standing more than seven feet tall. Created by a diverse group of artists, the installations celebrate the connection between humans and nature while exploring themes of metamorphosis, evolution and environmental stewardship. Using butterflies as symbols of freedom and beauty, the exhibit, which opens March 14 and runs through June 7, invites guests of all ages to reflect on the fragile balance of ecosystems and the role individuals can play in protecting them. Artists drew inspiration from butterfly migration patterns, the importance of community wellness and impact, and native species such as the vibrant eastern tiger swallowtail and the regal fritillary — two butterflies commonly seen in the region that face ongoing environmental threats. In addition to the towering sculptures, visitors can step into a whimsical photo opportunity featuring oversized monarch butterfly wings, offering an interactive way to engage with the vibrant outdoor display. “This exhibit highlights survival challenges and inspiring conservation stories for butterflies,” said
