    DA: Fresno serial-bombing suspect sentenced

    FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The man connected to several bombings in the Fresno area in 2022 and 2023 has been sentenced, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday.

    According to the Fresno Police Department, in 2023, Scott Anderson, then 44, was believed to be connected with several incidents that took place between Dec. 13, 2022, and Feb. 21, 2023, including one at the office of the Fresno County Probation Department.

    The incidents, according to police, included five vehicle bombings on different dates and locations, a mailbox bombing, and a probation department vehicle bombing.

    In 2023, the Department of Justice officials said two of the damaged vehicles were related to businesses on Clinton Avenue, and another heavily damaged vehicle was used by a home health care business located on Fallbrook Avenue.

    DOJ: Fresno men charged for several pipe-bombings

    The DOJ says he would sometimes record his crimes in video. In 2023, he was charged with conspiracy to destroy by means of an explosive device and malicious destruction by means of an explosive device. Anderson was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

    On Friday, the DA office said he was sentenced to five years in state prison for unlawful possession, explosion, ignition, or attempt to explode or ignite a destructive device or explosive and for arson of your own property or the property of another person.
