    National Day of Prayer set for May 2

    The event will take place outdoors at Fremont City Hall, 323 S. Front St.. Local pastors including: Rick Ash, Jonathan Edwards, Lawrence Rhea, Ian Vencil, Matthew Wheeler, Chaplain Larry Stump and Deacon Timothy Walters will pray into seven centers of influence in our nation of Government, Military, Media, Education, Family, Business and Church. Fremont Mayor Danny Sanchez will read a Proclamation.

    Ross students participate in program

    Abby Cahill and Destiny Robinson, students at Ross High School will sing the National Anthem. Cynthia and Rex Mason will conclude the program by singing "God Bless America".

    The public is welcome to bring a chair to the blocked area. Students from the Leadership Class at Ross will be present to greet people and distribute programs.

    Congress established an annual day in 1952 and in 1988, that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
