The third bridge across the Sandusky River on State Street in Fremont was this iron bridge constructed in 1877. The view in this photo looks northeast across the railroad gates near Front Street in the early 1900s. The sturdy bridge survived the 1913 flood, lasting until 1926 when it was replaced by the current State Street Bridge. The top of the Kline Block can be seen at the far right at the corner of Sandusky Avenue. (Larry Michaels and Krista Michaels)
