FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Fredericksburg Police Department if asking for help locating a “dangerous” man wanted for abduction and several other charges related to a pursuit, during which he struck two occupied vehicles.

According to police, at around 8:50 p.m. on April 30, an officer was patrolling on Airport Avenue when he saw Eugene Montaque, who is wanted in Westmoreland County on a felony abduction warrant, driving a minivan.

The officer tried to pull Montaque over, but he refused to stop and drove across the front yard of several homes before colliding with an occupied Ford Fiesta at the intersection of Airport Avenue and Coakley Street.

Montaque did not stop after crashing into the Ford, continuing on Tidewater Trail towards Spotsylvania County and crashing into another occupied vehicle near Ruffins Road. The officer gave up the pursuit at the intersection of Tidewater Trail and Route 17 in Spotsylvania after Montaque’s vehicle was no longer in sight.

No one in either of the vehicles struck by Montaque were injured. Montaque has been charged with felony hit-and-run, eluding law enforcement with endangerment, reckless driving and driving with a revoked license and fictitious tags in connection to the pursuit.

Montaque is still at large and Fredericksburg Police are asking anyone who has seen him or has information related to his whereabouts to call them at 540-373-3122 or the local police wherever he has been located.
