    Aldermen skeptical of recommendation on administrative position

    Some of Frederick’s aldermen have reservations about a suggested change to the city’s charter that would require the mayor to hire a chief administrative officer to help run daily operations.

    The change is one of the 19 recommendations made last year by a committee created to consider various changes to the city’s governing document — including that “The Mayor shall appoint, with the advice and consent of the City Council, a Chief Administrative Officer who shall assist the Mayor in running the day-to-day operations of the City.”
