Eastern Pennsylvania tornado damaged homes, elementary school: National Weather Service
The tornado confirmed to have struck an eastern Pennsylvania community Monday evening damaged homes and an elementary school and uprooted trees, officials said. A National Weather Service Survey confirmed the EF1 tornado with maximum estimated wind speeds of 90 mph touched down from 7:38 to 7:44 p.m. in Mahanoy City, about 35 miles northwest of Allentown.
