Zoe Knighton Takes fourth Place During UIL State Film Festival
Redwater, TX – Zoe Knighton, a junior student from Redwater High School, received Fourth Place in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) State Film Festival recently held in Austin, TX. She is now headed to compete at the Student Television Network National Convention in Long Beach, California in March.
Texarkana College Trustees Say Farewell To Longtime Board Member Kaye Ellison
Texarkana, TX- At Monday’s Trustees meeting, TC Board President Kaye Ellison announced her resignation as a TC Trustee. Ellison served on TC’s Board of Trustees in Place 5 for ten years. Dr. Jason Smith, TC President, said Ellison devoted countless hours of gracious service to TC’s faculty, staff, and students and was a vital part of the success of TexRep due to her generous talent and volunteer work in costume and set design.
Financial Advising Community Education Workshops to be Offered at UA Texarkana
The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana community education department will offer a series of financial workshops on the Texarkana campus this spring. The four-class series will teach students the “rules of the road” about finances, how to prepare for the unexpected, answer questions about social security, and how to prepare for retirement.

Farmers Bank Foundation Brings Former NFL Quarterback Terry Bradshaw to Texarkana
TEXARKANA, Texas – The Farmers Bank Foundation is bringing former NFL quarterback and television personality Terry Bradshaw to Texarkana as a part of its Distinguished Speaker Series. The April 6th event featuring Bradshaw is the third Distinguished Speaker Series event hosted in Texarkana by the Farmers Bank Foundation. The annual event is organized to help raise funds for scholarships for graduates of the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana and Texarkana College who wish to transition to Texas A&M University-Texarkana so that they can complete their bachelor’s degree.

The application to apply for the Hope Collegiate Academy is now open. The deadline to apply for the collegiate academy is Monday, May 1, 2023. Students who will be entering the 10th grade can apply to the academy. Students must be enrolled or be eligible to become enrolled as a Hope Public School District student and meet the collegiate academy entrance requirements to attend. The academy is a public school that is free of charge and is located on the University of Arkansas-Hope campus.
