We're back in the warm and muggy air this morning as the dryline has retreated back into West Texas. Temperatures are hovering near 70° under a mostly cloudy sky. More clouds than sun today and very warm. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s.

There is a slight chance for some strong to severe storms along the dryline later today, off to the west and southwest of DFW. These will not affect our area.

We'll start off near 70° again tomorrow morning with considerable cloudiness. Skies will become partly cloudy by late morning into the early afternoon hours with highs in the mid to upper 80s again. By late afternoon, a cold front will be approaching from the northwest. Scattered showers and thunderstorms, some severe, will break out across north Texas between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Large hail and damaging winds will be the threats. Not everybody will see storms, but please stay weather-aware.

The cold front will sag south of us Friday morning, but skies will remain mostly cloudy through the day. It will be breezy and cooler with afternoon highs in the low 70s.

A second front will slowly sag through the area on Saturday. This coupled with a strong upper-level disturbance will produce widespread shower non-severed thunderstorms across all of North Texas. Temperatures will start in the mid to upper 60s and fall into the upper 50s by evening. Leftover rain showers are possible overnight, ending from northwest to southeast early Sunday. Average rainfall totals will range between one to two inches across the area.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy and temperatures will be well below average again on Sunday. A lot of areas will struggle to get above 60°.

Sunshine returns Monday with highs in the low 70s. Near 80 with sunshine on Tuesday.
